Cultural Festival of Olympus
The Olympus Cultural Festival, also known as "Olympia", is one of the most important cultural institutions in the Pieria region and takes place every summer. This festival offers a rich palette of cultural activities and events ranging from theatrical performances, musical events, dance, art exhibitions, to literary meetings and traditional arts workshops.
The festival began as a way to honor the rich history and cultural heritage of Olympus, the mountain of the Twelve Gods of ancient Greek mythology, and has developed into an annual event that attracts visitors and artists from all over Greece and the world.
Preserving local traditions is a central theme of the festival, with many events focusing on promoting local music, dance, and gastronomy. Additionally, the festival highlights contemporary art and culture while simultaneously respecting and promoting the roots and traditions of the region.
